Attendance

  1.   On campus

Please take note that physical attendance is compulsory.  From Term 3 onwards, we will not be able to excuse a student’s absence on campus based on the fear of near contact with other people.  We need to reclaim a sense of normalcy and allowing students to be able to interact with teachers and peers will improve their social and emotional well-being.  Moreover, our teachers will now be preparing materials for classroom teaching and full HBL on rotating weeks.  It is not sustainable to prepare extra HBL materials for students who chose to stay away.  Please refer to the Student Handbook for more information on attendance as we move into full re-opening of SYAS.

  1.  During HBL

Students will follow their regular timetable on the days that they participate in full HBL.  Form teachers will mark attendance and engage students from 8am.

Timetable

All students will follow normal timetable given in Term 1 during their time on campus.  During the full HBL weeks, they will carry out a mixture of online and offline learning assigned by subject teachers according to the same timetable.

Safe Management Measures

  1. Existing measures:

Regular temperature screenings and sanitising of hands in the morning will be carried out at the main gate upon entry.  Students will be reminded to uphold good hygiene standards and to take their temperatures after their breaks.  School facilities will also be cleaned and sanitised daily, especially high touch surfaces.

  1. New measures – important:

SYAS will be implementing a safe entry measure (SafeEntry) for contact tracing purposes.  All students need to bring their Student Pass/ a photocopy of their Student Pass/ mobile phone and check into SYAS every morning.

Reporting Time:

  1. On campus

All students are to report to school before 8am.  We strongly encourage students to arrive in SYAS before 7.30am daily so as to prevent crowding due to the implementation of safe manage measures (SafeEntry Requirement).

  1. During HBL

We seek the help of parents and guardians to ensure that students go online by 8am to mark attendance and participate in class contact time with their form teachers.  With an early and good start to the day, students learn self-discipline and as they mature, they will be able to manage their time more effectively.

We thank God for the opportunity to help our students grow and look forward to meeting one another soon.  Stay safe.
